When I decided to start this I was so filled with anxiety. I thought I'd never be able to do this. Start a blog about my crochet...that seemed strange to me. However, once I threw the idea out at my husband on his way home from work, he told me it was a great idea. Then he started dumping a bunch of information on me about how to start marketing and advertising all of my crochet items. (Especially since my store front with Etsy hasn't helped me at all)

When I first started crocheting almost 5 years ago, I did it because I wanted to learn a new skill. I wanted to learn something that I felt like was becoming a lost art. My mother-in-law, had been crocheting for years, she was taught by her mother. She was excited to have someone to share her love of crocheting with, as none of her kids continued the craft.

I started off small. I bought a how to book, with some basic hooks and accessories that I had no idea how to use. Over the course of the next week or so, I started trying to crochet a chain (which was really simple), a slip knot (which for some reason eluded me for a while) and a single crochet stitch. After making a 2 inch swatch I was so proud of myself, I had made something. Then I got to looking at it and realized I had done the whole thing wrong. I hadn't actually made a single crochet stitch.

As you can see my first attempts were not the greatest, but by the third picture its seems like I got the hang of it.

Seeing these first attempts makes me realize how far I've really come. I never realized how much progress I've made in my crochet journey until now.

There's more to come in the future. I have so much planned, but unsure of how to go about getting it all out of my head and into a format that makes sense.
